Hello Nation, you look lovely! Then again, you always do!

Ok, enough flirting, geez! So, we’ve got a MAJOR announcement for you & we hope to have news for you by the end of the month! PSYCH! (remember that word? It’s pronounced “syke” & it means, “I just F’d with you psychologically). In any case, here’s the announcement;

Please welcome the new Black Hat Villain front-woman (that’s right, woman) ASHLEY NOVEMBER!!!

She’s got awesome vocals, an awesomer attitude & is the perfect fit for the awesomest band in the world! (Ummm, Black Hat Villain, duh!) We’re so unbelievably stoked to have Ashley join BHV, you have no idea! We had the opportunity to play live with Ashley last week in Vancouver & the response was phenomenal! While there, we also had a killer photo shoot with the ultra-talented Whitney Bragagnolo & we’re soooo impressed with the results! Check it out up top, yeah?

We’re slowly updating all our sites/pics etc. & hope to have some sneak peeks of new tunes with Ashley in the next week or so, so please bear with us!

Hello Nation!

It’s been quite some time since we last conversed, but these words were typed to change that! 

VOCALS!!!

First off, we’ve got a major announcement coming in the next month, regarding the vacant front-person position. We have indeed made a decision on what we plan to do; it may be that we found the right fit, or that we plan on continuing as a 4 piece, or that we’re going to auto-tune our farts & call it good enough, (as many “artists” are doing these days) but before we make anything “official”, we want to line up all our dicks… DUCKS! Line up all our ducks! (dammit! The “i’ & “u” are so close together on the keyboard, it’s an honest mistake, right? I bet who ever invented the keyboard & decided that the “i” & “u” should be side by side is LHAO & saying, “Finally!”). Anyway, stay tuned, you’ll be the second to know!

We want to thank everyone who took the time to submit vocals in hopes of becoming BHV’s new front-person! We had quite a few submissions  & there were some very promising vocals thrown down! Based on that, we have no doubt that a new crop of bands with dynamic & ebullient (wtf does ebullient mean?) vocalists are about to emerge!

SHOWS!!!

It’s been a while since we’ve played up on a stage for you guys & we miss it like the deserts miss the rain (sung to the tune of “…like the deserts miss the rain”). We have confirmation on a Vancouver date (details below) & are working out the details for several others, including additional Vancouver dates, Kelowna/Kamloops & Vernon. As always, if there’s somewhere you think we should be playing, please contact us!

All the info for the confirmed Vancouver date can be found here! We’ll post more details once other shows are confirmed.

NEW TUNES!!!

We’ve got 7 or 8 brand spankers written & demo’d, entirely unheard, except by a handful of you! We’re all super stoked on how they sound & we can’t wait for you guys to hear them! They nestle in quite nicely with the existing set-list & while being very different from the “My Generation” ep, we feel the new songs pick up where the ep left off & forge ahead in a new direction! But you be the judge & come see us live!

Itʼs been one hell of a ride the past two years during my tenure as frontman for Black Hat Villain.

Weʼve enjoyed tremendous achievements together and I consider myself extremely lucky to have shared this stage of my musical journey with Sam, Abe, Ian and Tim. Iʼve also enjoyed the boundless energy and enthusiasm that Ryan Rae brought into the fold over the past few months. That being said, I have decided to leave the band to continue to pursue my own solo writing and performing ambitions. Our upcoming performance scheduled for the 2nd Annual Capital City Tattoo Convention at Pearkes Arena on March 19th will be my last as the lead singer for Black Hat Villain and I hope that many of you are able to make it so that we can celebrate this last show together. Changes abound in BHV land boys & girls and we’re all anxious to see what’s to come of it. Ryan Rae is sitting behind the drumkit for us now and we hope he’ll stick around for awhile. We navigate the waters of our new dynamic with positive vibes and attitudes about where we might be come this time next year but first things first – let’s create some new fuckin’ music. After all, without us doing that there would be no you reading this. We’ve got a new process to figure out and that includes here on our blog as well. We’re each going to post a little something every week to update, inform, piss you off and have you laugh at us and shake your head. That’s what we do. That’s what our music does too.

A new vibe, a changing outlook – this is where I

metamorphosize once again.

By the time you read this I will have cut my mane and disbanded my beard to reflect upon my face and the year that has been. So thanks very much tuxedoed-wildman-rock-&-roll-shaman-look-of-the-past-2-years…it’s been great knowing you. Stay tuned for more…
